Last week Amy, Owen, and I all checked out Ditmas Park. Amy had roamed the few streets that comprise the neighborhood, but i had never been and we figured it was a perfect Brooklyn neighborhood to feature. Maybe it was because it was 70 degrees, maybe it was because of all the normal sized homes (anything over 1,000 square-feet has somehow become a mansion in my eyes...blame it on that New York mindset), or even the architecture, but it felt like we were in Pasadena, CA. Essentially what i'm getting at is it was such an incredible little escape. It might not be what you're looking for if you're traveling to New York from a smaller town, but this little tucked away pocket is truly a gem, and for those of you New Yorkers looking for a quick little retreat from the madness I highly recommend walking around Ditmas Park. We picked up flowers at Stems Brooklyn which is in the Flatbush/Ditmas Park area and is adorable, and then grabbed lunch at Milk & Honey - more on that tomorrow!
