One of my favorite rules from Michael Pollan's book Food Rules is to buy all your snacks from the farmers market. This is something that is much more difficult than it sounds, but for this vacation I challenged myself to follow the rule. What did I end up with? Local cherries, strawberries, homemade granola and trail mix. For the most part this route was much healthier and affordable than buying snacks at the airport, not to mention you're supporting your local farmers market in the process. I wasn't sure what was allowed past security so I did a little research and it looks like all these snacks are good to go. Double check me here.
