I've been wearing the same heeled black ankle boots for years. I didn't realize just how bad the heels had been worn down until I had a fresh new pair to compare them to. To be totally honest after seeing the two side by side I'm surprised I couldn't feel how uneven they were - that's how bad it was. Haha. So with the cold weather finally here I figured I deserved the upgrade. These Madewell boots go with just about everything in my closet, which I am all about. As Brooklynites there's no room for excess so the more I can wear these with the better.
Has anyone else gutted their closet since becoming a mother? I went through a huge closet purge before we moved to New York and it seems like every few months since I just keep getting rid of more and more. I used to hold on to items I might wear down the line, but of course never did and didn't really love. I'm certainly not a textbook minimalist by any stretch, but it feels so nice to get rid of what I don't need and open my closet doors to find items I want to wear. It's taken close to two years to really get there, but I'm glad I've held out and have made thoughtful purchases rather than snagging anything I could find in my price range. Anyone who lives or has visited Phoenix knows the trap that is called Last Chance. When everything is $5 it makes it hard to say no. Haha.
